Guide: Methods to Adding a New User in Windows 10

Two Methods to Add New User Profile (using Mouse)
Once Control Panel is open, navigate to PC Settings to Add New User
(NOTE: these may not work if Cortana has failed).

  1.  Under “User Accounts” click “Change Account Type” > click “Add a new user in PC settings” > click "Add someone else to this PC" > Under “Family & other users” click “Add someone else to this PC”
  2. Under “User Accounts” click “Change Account Type” > click “Add a new user in PC settings” > click "Add someone else to this PC" > Under “Your Account” click “Add a work of school account”

Third Method to Add New User Profile (using Keyboard)
Win Key + R > type netplwiz > press ENTER
(NOTE: this method should work even if Cortana has failed as it opens the User Account Advanced Control Panel).

  1. User Accounts popup > Users tab > click “Add”
  2. Add a User popup > User Name > Password > Confirm Password > Password Hint > Next > Finish
  3. Users tab > click Properties > Group Membership tab > choose user level (standard, administrator, other) > OK

NOTES
*Change low level user passwords in the User Accounts popup by selecting the user and clicking “Reset Password”. To change the administrator password, you must be logged into the administrator account, then press CTRL-ALT-DEL > Change Password

**Remove users from the User Account popup by selecting the user and clicking “Remove” > Yes / No
